Recruiting Local Talent

Maximizing national content during project development and operation, specifically the participation and development of Mozambican labor, requires employing Mozambican citizens with appropriate qualifications to every extent possible at all levels of our organization or as sub-contractors.

For our pioneering operation in northern Mozambique, we are drawing and developing top local talent into the natural gas industry.

Training and Workforce Development

  • Local talent groomed for LNG Plant operation – One of the positive contributions Mozambique LNG is already making is its investment in Mozambican talent and workforce development. Operating and maintaining a world class LNG facility requires expertise and specialist skills. In 2013, the project employed thirteen Mozambican engineers and technicians from diverse engineering backgrounds as part of its Operations and Maintenance Training Program. These trainees are set to play a key role in the safe start-up, operation and maintenance of the future LNG facility.
  • Master of Science in Petroleum Engineering Program – The Eduardo Mondlane University (UEM) Masters of Science in Petroleum Engineering (MSPE) aims to help build technical skills and a sustainable domestic talent pool in petroleum engineering in Mozambique. The global relationships and knowledge-sharing cultivated by the program is already contributing to a collective technical yield that will support the energy resource development in Mozambique.

Career Development

To deliver a world-class natural gas project, we continually require a team of people with the right knowledge and skill sets. Anadarko provides world-class training and career development programs, empowering employees to align their passions with real-world challenges.
